A Global Celebration of Art and Story
Genesis brought together 37 original works from 28 authors and artists from around the world—a rich mix of poetry, flash fiction, short stories, a theatrical scene, visual art, and even a novelette. It was a bold first chapter, both for its contributors and for Happie Literacy Works itself, as the organization began its expansion from individual projects into full collections and multimedia storytelling.
As founder of Happie Literacy Works and Editor-in-Chief of Luminaura Magazine, Dominique J. Smiley put it when the issue launched, Luminaura was built to be “a space where imagination is ethereal and light”—a celebration of new and bright beginnings, and an invitation for readers to one day share their own work in future volumes.
